DR SHEHLA JAMAL SHOWCASES REUSABLE SANITARY PADS AT ECONOMIC TIMES GLOBAL ECONOMIC SUMMIT, DELHI, INDIA.
Dr Shehla Jamal, Director of Menstrual Health Sciences at Pinkishe Foundation, spoke on the panel of “Reimaging Sustainability Advocacy: What next for environmental protection?”. She drew concern on the enormous challenge of 12.3 Billion Sanitary Pads that are going in landfills every year. Due to the plastic contained in them, it takes 500+ years for the pads to decompose. She highlighted how Pinkishe is countering this challenge by promoting eco-friendly reusable cotton cloth pads in the rural belts.
Eco-sustainability can no longer be avoided. Every effort is critical!
