PinkisheFoundation Covid19 LockdownSeries (Episode 8)

Closed markets, restricted movements, and an unanticipated social distancing have affected daily lives badly and have brought along extreme inconvenience and distress for those who are less privileged.

Few days back, 35 girls, out of total 60 children of a Manipur orphanage needed sanitary pads urgently. Moreover, they were all in dire need of raw food supplies too.

Pinkishe Foundation regularly visits and provides free sanitary pads alongwith menstrual hygiene awareness workshops to needy women and girls across India under our Padbank program (https://www.pinkishe.org/padbank)

We understood the anguish of those children, immediately responded and reached to their rescue. Under the guidance of our Jorhat, Assam Branch President Ms Sumita Bandyopadhyay, necessary food items and Sanitary pads were provided to the Manipur orphanage on 26th April, 2020.

Pinkishe Foundation received full local support from Mr Rajib Sinha, Account Head of an MNC; Mrs Sharungbam Kalpana Devi, Director of Sharungbam Supply and Works LLP; and Mrs Rina Sharungbam, Director of Paramount Enterprise in Manipur. They voluntarily donated and distributed all the stuff on behalf of Pinkishe Foundation under Ms Sumita's direction.

Pinkishe Foundation is grateful to Mr Sinha, Ms Kalpana, Ms Rina and Ms Sumita for supporting us in this noble cause.
