The sudden announcement of lock down in view of containing Corona Spread resulted in shortage of basic requirements like sanitary napkins for weaker section females.
But at a time when the entire country was under lockdown due to Corona Virus, it was a challenge to step out and extend help to needy due to strict lockdown rules.
Pinkishe Foundation came forward to the rescue. We decided to deliver free sanitary pads to needy as we regularly do under our Padbank program (https://www.pinkishe.org/padbank).
Our General Secretary Shalini Gupta took the initiative and visited Prahlad Garhi, Ghaziabad Police Chowki to seek permission for distributing free sanitary napkins to the needy.
The Police Department was very kind and supportive. They not only allowed us to visit slums of Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, but also accompanied and helped us in the noble cause.
We distributed pads to 120 female slum dwellers there. They were overwhelmed to receive this basic necessary stuff, that too in these testing times! All social distancing rules were followed during the drive.
Pinkishe Foundation extends our gratitude to Ms Shalini Gupta, Police Department, Pinkishe volunteer Pranav Bhatnagar and all the contributors for supporting the cause.
