SAKHI PROJECT Block - Jani Block, Meerut

On 9th May, BRGs of Jani Block, Kavita Sharma and Dr Manjula imparted Menstrual hygiene training to about 33 teachers. These teachers further educated about 1250 girls of class 6th to 8th studying in their schools. Ms Shalini Gupta, National General Secretary, Pinkishe Foundation applauded teachers for participating whole heartedly in the workshop and encouraged them to keep their sessions with the girls more interactive, so the girls leave the hesitation and could discuss with the teachers any period related issues they generally face. Through the Sakhi program, Pinkishe Foundation is training school teachers in Menstrual literacy and these teachers further impart Menstrual hygiene training to girls studying in their schools. Our objective is to reach a large number of school girls through the Sakhi program so that we can normalize menstruation over a period of time. Pinkishe foundation is very much thankful to all the teachers for their wonderful cooperation with our team, and we're also continuously trying to break all these orthodox myths and taboos from the society.
