Free Sanitary Pad Donation & Menstrual Literacy Workshop | Delhi | 5th July 2022

The ability to manage menstrual health with dignity and have access to healthcare and adequate sanitation facilities without any stigma is every human's right, ensuring sufficient menstrual health literacy is vital.

With this thought, a menstrual hygiene literacy workshop was conducted in Maharaja Agarsain Public school, Ashok Vihar, Delhi on 5th July for 6th and 7th standard girls, about 300 girls participated. The Pinkishe Foundation was invited by the school authorities to conduct this workshop and it was wonderful. The girls were very interactive and enthusiastic. They listened attentively and asked questions. One girl Megha who hasn't yet got her periods wanted to know what she should do if her periods suddenly start. Our Felicitator, Ms Shalini Gupta, corrected the myths of a few girls who were made to think that periods are impure. Girls were made aware about different Menstrual products. Our North Delhi branch members Ritu Nagpal and Deepa Gupta were also present. Such sessions with School girls help us in destigmatizing periods and normalising the process of Menstruation.
