Pinkishe Foundation in collaboration with Sampark Sathi ngo conducted a Menstrual hygiene management workshop for women and girls of Haiderpur Badli slum cluster in North Delhi on 10th August.
Objective of the workshop was to educate women about various myths associated with menstruation and adoption of hygienic sanitation practices. Our facilitator Mrs. Shalini Gupta told them right ways of using and disposing of sanitary pads and cloth pads.
Women said that maintaining their cleanliness while menstruating is not something they give much thought to. They also mentioned about how they used old clothes without washing them. They appreciated the efforts put forward by our foundation. They were pleased to learn new information about maintaining proper menstrual hygiene practices. The workshop was followed by distributing free sanitary pads so that a woman doesn't dread her period anymore and knows how to manage it.
