Menstrual literacy is a requirement for all of us. Particularly among young women and girls.
Pinkishe Foundation held a menstrual health and hygiene education workshop with girls from Medhpur village in Meerut on April 23, 2022.
Our facilitator was well-received by the girls. After a few minutes of the session, their initial hesitancy and shyness faded. Our facilitator explained that menstruation is a universal phenomenon at the heart of mankind, so there is no need to be embarrassed. We gave these girls free reusable sanitary pads and demonstrated their proper use and necessity. At the end of the session, the girls' smiling faces indicated that we needed to talk more about periods to normalise it.
