Educating women about menstruation is a step forward in bringing within themselves a sense of pride.
On 21st April, Pinkishe Foundation conducted a Menstrual health and hygiene workshop with the girls of block Parikshitgarh in Meerut.
The objective of this workshop was to make girls aware of menstruation and the different taboos attached to it. Our facilitator Minakshi Rana urged girls not to consider periods as some kind of sickness rather it is a blessing for every woman. She told girls to remain active during periods and do light exercise also as this will help them in getting relief from period pains. She also discussed the importance of maintaining period hygiene and the consequences of poor hygiene practices in women. Girls were very receptive and listened attentively. In the end, free reusable sanitary pads were distributed to the girls. We believe that reusable pads are the sustainable solution to end -period poverty.
